What a fun holiday festivity! I am so so SO glad I decided to go ahead and try to host my own wine and painting party. I can’t believe I actually did it! The thought of buying all of the supplies, teaching a number of people, and having everything set up for a wine and painting party honestly scared me silly. I was so afraid of what people would think, what if I wasn’t prepared enough, what if people didn’t like how their painting turned out and on… and on… But, you know what? I did it anyway. My friends and guests had the best time in the end. They all were begging to do one for Valentine’s Day! So, long story short it was a blast and I can’t wait to do it again sometime soon.
First thing’s first, get out your holiday gear and find yourself a good bottle of wine to get you started!I found this adorable picture of a snowman posing on his side for our painting. I thought it was fun and everyone would enjoy a little humor.I bought the paint and little canvases during the months leading up to the party to prepare. Then I set up little craft stations for everyone with their canvas, a jar of water, 3 paint brushes, paint, a rag, and a paper towel… and of course a glass of WINE 🙂I was super anxious before starting the class so my sweater vest and bow headband was perfect for putting me at ease!I tried not to think and talk too much between steps of the painting. I just showed them step by step how I created the painting and what I would do. It worked perfectly.
I made sure to walk around and see if anyone needed help or was confused in between each step. We also took lots of wine breaks!
My fiancé was the sweetest and took care of filling glasses and loading up snack plates to keep all of the guests happy and having fun!
At the end of the afternoon, everyone was so excited and had so much fun. We all had the most adorable snowmen and smiles all around. I did this party at the beginning of December and it was the perfect festivity to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
Thinking about hosting your own wine and painting party? DO IT! You will be so glad you did. I didn’t have a strict itinerary or do intense planning. It was way less stressful than I ever thought.
Would I do it again? OF COURSE! I can’t wait to plan my next event and start picking out our next painting subject 🙂
